Support Us

We Appreciate Your Support

At The Open Door, Inc., we believe that housing is healthcare, and no one should be left without a safe place to call home. As a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are committed to providing housing, financial support, and harm reduction services to individuals living with HIV who are also experiencing homelessness. Many of those we serve have been turned away from traditional housing and support programs, leaving them with nowhere to go. Your generosity helps fill that gap, ensuring that the most vulnerable members of our community receive the stability, dignity, and care they deserve.

End of Year Appeal

At The Open Door, Inc., we provide housing and support for people living with HIV who are experiencing homelessness. For many of our residents, HIV is just one of many challenges—they may also be facing poverty, stigma, substance use, or past trauma. We believe everyone deserves stability, dignity, and a safe place to call home.

For over 19 years, we’ve offered transitional housing, weekly meals, representative payee services, non-medical case management, and a caring community where people can heal and rebuild their lives. But right now, we’re facing one of our toughest challenges yet. Due to recent statewide funding cuts, The Open Door, Inc. has lost 25% of its main funding source through Ryan White Part B, putting critical programs and services at risk.

As a small nonprofit, we rely on community generosity to fill the gaps and keep our doors open. Your support helps us cover the essentials—keeping our housing program running, providing food and hygiene items, and ensuring no one feels alone on their journey.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Together, we can make sure The Open Door, Inc. remains a safe haven for those who need it most. ❤️

Donations

Every donation to The Open Door, Inc. has a direct impact. Your support provides safe and stable housing, harm reduction services that meet people where they are without judgment, financial management assistance through our representative payee program, and essential daily needs such as food, hygiene supplies, and transportation. Every contribution can make a big difference — $25 provides hygiene essentials and a warm meal, $50 covers transportation costs for medical appointments and services, $100 helps fund case management and crisis intervention, and $250 or more contributes to securing long-term housing for those facing chronic homelessness.

When you give to The Open Door, Inc., you are doing more than making a donation—you are advocating for a community-driven approach to care that prioritizes harm reduction, housing justice, and meeting people with dignity and respect. Together, we can create a Pittsburgh where no one is left behind. Please consider supporting The Open Door, Inc. today and help us continue this vital work.
